Now that Oneonta's Christmas Tree is safely on duty at NYC Rockefeller Center, we would like to share this notice from Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond from last week:

"November 12, 2020 personnel from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the Otsego County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police all participated in event which involved escorting the 115-foot-long tractor and trailer which was transporting the giant 11 tons, 75-foot-tall, 45 foot in diameter Norway Spruce chosen as the 2020 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree from its home in West Oneonta, NY.

The tree was donated by Al Dick, owner of Daddy Al's Store in Oneonta, NY.

In addition to the NYSP, other County Sheriff's Offices will participate in the escort as the giant spruce makes its way along the specially mapped out route on its journey to Manhattan where it will arrive and be erected at Rockefeller Center on Saturday November 14th.

Speaking on the event, Sheriff Craig DuMond remarked “what a great honor and privilege to be part of this occasion. We were proud to be part of the team that delivered New York City’s Christmas tree Rockefeller Center for all to enjoy!”.
