Convicted Murderer Dies In Prison Before Parole Hearing
A man convicted of killing a SUNY Oneonta student 40 years ago died in a prison medical unit. According to The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Ricky A. Knapp died March 8 at the age 66. According to court records Knapp was sentenced to serve 25 years to life in prison in the death of Linda Velzy. Knapp was due to have a parole hearing in June. A cause of death hasn’t been released.
