On Sunday October 28 the Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) will honor Robert (Bob) Brzozowski, the recipient of GOHS' 18th annual Albert E. Morris Award for contributions to local history.

Brzozowski and his family moved to Oneonta in 1996 from Milwaukee, where he was active in Historic Milwaukee, Inc. The Bachman-Brzozowski family joined GOHS in 2000 and in January 2003 the late Sally Mullen named him to a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. In October 2003 he was elected President of the Board and served in that capacity for five of the next six years. On leaving the Board in October 2009, he was named GOHS’ first executive director and remains in this position to date. GOHS president Corinne Smith states that "During his involvement with GOHS,

Bob has overseen the evolution of the Society and its Oneonta History Center. His passionate dedication to history and his tireless efforts to support GOHS make him most deserving of this award." The Morris award, named for the city of Oneonta's first mayor, will be presented at 2:00 PM on October 28 at a reception at the History Center, 183 Main Street. The reception, with refreshments, is free and open to the public. For more information, contact (607) 432-0960 or info@OneontaHistory.org.
