22nd District Congressman Anthony Brindisi announces he is pushing for an increase in federal funding for local law enforcement through the Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services grant program. Brindisi says he wants to double the $350 million already allocated to hire more than 2,700 officers nationwide. The congressman says the additional funding is especially needed with local governments dealing with revenue shortfalls due to COVID-19.
