BREAKING: ONEONTA DRUG BUST NETS CORTLAND MAN
ONEONTA POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Thursday, September 28th, 2017 members of the City of Oneonta Police Department Detective Division in conjunction with the Special Response Team served a no knock search warrant at Motel 88 room 241 in the City of Oneonta, NY. Assisting with the warrant service were members from the Oneonta Police Uniform Patrol members, City of Norwich Police Department, Chenango County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Division of Corrections and Community Supervision This search warrant was subsequent to an ongoing investigation involving the sale and distribution of illegal substances and weapons possession. As a result of the search warrant, arrested was;
- JASON R. CHASE, 33 year old male from Cortland, NY
Mr. Chase was arrested for two counts of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B Felony.
During the search of the premises the following items were discovered:
60 glassine bags of heroin
11 bags of crack cocaine
The drugs seized are worth an estimated $1750.00
No weapons were located.
During the investigation it was found that Mr. Chase had two arrest warrants for Criminal Sale of a Controlled substance in the Third Degree and was also wanted by the New York State Division of Corrections and Community Supervision. Mr. Chase was held at the City of Oneonta Police Department for arraignment on a DA recommended $50,000 bail.
The maximum sentence for a person convicted of a class B felony is a term of incarceration not to exceed 25 years.
