Big Chuck Announces: “I Am Going to be a Grandfather!”

I just got the word that my youngest daughter, Katie, and her husband Sgt. Robert Duncan are going to be parents!

I could not be happier.  I think Katie has been practicing to be a mommy since she was a little girl at St. Mary's School in Oneonta.  Making a nursery for all of her dolls and trying to pour tea down the unopened mouths of her stuffed animals at her little tea parties.  Katie and Robert currently live in Germany where he is serving in the U.S. Army.

Now...down to business.  I am going to be a grandfather.  I think I have to learn how to whittle, how to wear a white belt and how to rock gently in a chair on my porch.

This is going to be fun..and now I will have a whole new audience for my stories!

I really am so happy for them.  And Grandpa Big Chuck and Grandma Trish are thrilled here in Oneonta.

I can't wait to see what this newest member of our family looks like.  Both Katie and Robert (photo above) are very attractive people so the kid is going to be a looker for sure.  But if I was a betting man, and I am, I will bet the child has a serious set of cheeks on him or her.  That is an undeniable and strong DNA trait in all D'Imperio family members.  And if you don't believe me, here is a photo of Katie when she was 7 months old.
