Bassett is hosting two open community meetings, the “A, B, C's of Medicare and Beyond,” to inform the public about the new anticipated changes to Medicare for 2013 and beyond.

Along with representatives of the department of social work at Bassett medical center.

The goal of the open meetings is to inform Medicare enrollees and other family members or friends who help them with their insurance paperwork, about the changes coming and those already in place. Many of the insurance changes are complicated and often people do not fully understand what coverage they have or can expect to have in the future.

Open meetings will be held:

Thursday, Sept. 13, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. In the large community room at Foxcare center, one Foxcare drive, (rt. 7), Oneonta. Light refreshments will be served.

Monday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. At the Clark auditorium, in the fieldstone building at Bassett medical center, one Atwell rd., Cooperstown. Light refreshments will be served.

No registration is required and classes are free. For more information, call 607-547-3640.
