Today, the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair has announced that it will not open for the 2020 season due to concerns over the "evolving COVID-19 situation and its impact on community health and well-being".

The fair had been scheduled to run August 10-15, 2021. Board officials stated on the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair facebook page that "While the Fair’s mission is to provide an annual educational experience in agriculture, the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers and surrounding communities is our highest priority. "

Fair officials do plan on holding the fair as usual in August of 2021.
