Fans of leaf-peeping in upstate New York will have a special opportunity to experience the splendor of fall from a new perspective this year.

Amtrak will bring its only “dome” car to its route between Albany and Montreal for a few weeks.

The leaves have already begun to show color in the Adirondacks and North Country.

The 1955 passenger car features a glass dome on its upper deck that runs the full length of the coach.

The dome car will be running on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays northbound, and returns on the train on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays.

Seats are available on a first-come basis.

The leaf-peeping train is available through October 29th.
