AHL Returns to Utica with Comets

Twenty years since the last AHL team laced up in Utica, the Vancouver Canucks confirmed the rumors that it was moving its AHL team to central New York.

The new team will be called the Utica Comets, the Canucks said during a Friday afternoon press conference.

The American Hockey League is the second-highest level of American hockey. Players in the AHL are just one step from the National Hockey League.
