AllOTSEGO reports that even after following New York State guidelines for gatherings with a maximum of 50 people, a wedding party with 45 people held in Oneida County this past weekend, resulted in 7 wedding guests from Otsego County contracting COVID-19 according to the Otsego County Department of Health.

Heidi Bond, Public Health Director of the Otsego County Department of Health says, “This shows that in the wedding setting, sometimes people get closer either when they’re eating or celebrating, and masks aren’t worn."

Out of the 7 Otsego County residents that are confirmed with COVID-19 after attending the wedding, 6 are Town of Oneonta residents and the other individual resides in Middlefield.
