$3.3B Going To NY Schools Thanks To Lottery Sales
New York State Lottery ticket sales are booming, according to a new report released this week. More than half of $7.7 billion dollars in sales for traditional lottery games came from scratch-off tickets. Nearly $10 billion was spent on gaming, producing $3.3 billion dollars in aid to public schools. Traditional horse racing at tracks and betting parlors dropped by $96 million dollars from the previous year.
