Oh we think we are all so smug, and mature and sophisticated.  Don't we?

And yet when it comes to Chrsitmas music we always seem to go back to those wonderful tuneful memories that rang throughout the house when we were kids and Mom and Dad ruled the old Hi-Fi system.  I remember Bing Crosby was always playing at our house during the Holiday season when I was a kid.  In fact, I once swore that I never would play Der Bingle again once I got out of my parents' house in Sidney.

Now, some 50 years later, the first songs I play after Thanksgiving while decorating the house or relaxing with the family are songs from my youth....Dean Martin,. Ella Fitzgerald, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Ray Conniff, Andy Williams, Kate Smith, Johnny Mathis and more.  And of course, I must admit, Bing Crosby.

Music I swore I would never play once I got older.  Life is funny, isn't it?

What Christmas songs from your youth do you play during Christmas?
