A new student-faculty group at SUNY Oneonta has planned two benefit events tomorrow to support the college’s Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Six SUNY Oneonta students teamed up with faculty and staff at the beginning of October to create the Oneonta Relief Corps. The ORC seeks to help people suffering due to natural disasters.

One of the two events planned for tomorrow is a kid’s night out babysitting fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. at the college’s Chase Gym. This is where student volunteers will entertain children with games, arts and crafts, and other activities. The cost is $15.

The other event is a benefit show, featuring Sophie Gault & Co. with Rough Crowd, and this will be held at the Autumn Café on Main Street. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. with the music starting at 10 p.m. There is a $3 cover, with all proceeds going toward relief efforts. Donations are welcome at both events.
