When a community emergency occurs, of course you want to know about it right away so that you can act accordingly. That's why our Central NY region has different services in various counties to do just that.  Otsego County has a service called Hyper-Reach to alert the public whenever an important event occurs.  What kinds of emergencies does it cover?  According to OtsegoCounty.com, it notifies those registered about emergencies ranging from Hazardous Material (HazMat) spills to weather alerts to hostage situations and floods.  The water main break in Worcester reminded me that Otsego County has this emergency notification service and it's very easy to sign up for.  In fact, I registered for my family in less than one minute.

Delaware County residents can register for a similar service: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

Chenango County residents, CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

You can choose how you wish to be notified: home phone, cell phone, and/or email.  I chose all three.  Why not?  So take the time right now if you are an Otsego County resident to register for this very important service!
