Gov. Cuomo Signs New NYS Breast Cancer Screening Law
During his motorcycle trip over New York State as part of his “Get Screened, No Excuses” campaign to raise breast cancer awareness, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed Monday a measure into law that will remove barriers now blocking many women from having potentially lifesaving breast cancer screenings. The legislation will eliminate annual deductibles and co-insurance payments for screening and diagnostic imaging for the detection of breast cancer. This package includes mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and MRIs covered under a patient’s insurance policy.
