The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Flood Watch for portions of Central New York including Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties. This watch is in effect from 4pm this afternoon through Wednesday morning.

Rain will develop across the area today and will be heavy at times, late afternoon through tonight before gradually diminishing Wednesday. An average of 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected across the watch area but with a very moist atmosphere and a stalling front, some locations could exceed 4 inches. This may lead to localized flash flooding. Significant river rises may also occur. Be on the alert use caution while traveling.
