Chenango County Man Sentenced to Ten Years For Rape

A Chenango County man is going to prison for ten years after pleading guilty to rape in the first degree.

The New York state police at Norwich arrested Martin W. Nowalk, 52, of Greene in May of 2013 following an investigation into alleged inappropriate sexual contact with a female child under the age of thirteen.

He pled guilty on January 10th and was sentenced on January 27th, 2014.

Nowalk will serve his time in a New York state correctional facility, with twenty years of post-release supervision and the requirement to register as a sex offender.
