Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County runs a two-day children’s grief camp every summer. Camp Four Seasons is for children dealing with the loss of a loved one.. Hospice spokesperson Donna Wood Craig says this year's grief camp is coming up this week.

"Camp Four Seasons is free and open to all children in Chenango County," Craig said. "No prior association with Hospice is necessary. This year's camp will take place at the Norwich YMCA on Thursday and Friday July 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parents and guardians are expected to be part of the camp for the first and last session of each day."

Craig also explained the camp's mission.

"Chenango County is dedicated to supporting children grieving the loss of a significant person in their young lives. Hospice with the support of the Otis Thompson Foundation has [the camp] for school-age children in grades K through 12. Staff and Hospice volunteers work with the kids in big and small groups to explore their emotional well-being and offer both creative and talk out loud to start the healing process."
