On August 16 and 17 the Chenango County Fairgrounds in Norwich will come alive with the sounds of the blues. This will be the 21st Annual Blues Fest, which always brings a large crowd for the all-day performances leading up to the big event Saturday evening. Eric Larson of the Chenango Blues Association says he's excited for their efforts to pay off.

"This year's show looks like another great one," Larson said. "We work all year round to track down bands and do the underwriting to do these shows. It's an awful lot of fun when the time arrives and we finally get to see them up on the stage virtually every performance is free the only charge for anything we do is the Saturday of the Blues Festival if you are 18 or older."

Free concerts are held in East Side Park in Norwich each Thursday leading up to the Blues Fest. This Thursday evening at 7 p.m. the Glenn Miller Band will perform live on stage playing the swing music of the 40s in the original Glenn Miller style.
