A woman facing a misdemeanor charge for speeding in the town of Otsego now faces felony charges for assaulting an officer as she was being taken to court. Police say Jamie Veriur of Glens Falls turned herself in Monday and as they were heading to Sidney on I-88 Veriur hit the officer and tried to get out of the police car while it was still moving. It took another officer and pepper spray to subdue Veriur. She was booked into jail on $4,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
