Massive Waffle Recall Includes Oneonta, New York
TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE: THS) is voluntarily recalling specific frozen waffle products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause serious, and at times fatal, infections, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. In healthy people, it typically causes short-term symptoms like high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. However, infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
The recalled products were distributed across the United States and Canada under various brand names. Consumers and retailers can identify affected products by checking the UPC on the back of the carton, along with the Lot Code and Best By Date, located on the end of the carton.

To date, no confirmed illnesses have been linked to the recall. Anyone concerned about a possible illness should contact a healthcare professional.
The contamination was identified during routine testing at the manufacturing facility. Consumers should check their freezers for the affected products and either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. For further information, consumers can reach the company at 800-596-2903, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CST).
This recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
