Apple cider donuts are one of Upstate New York's favorite fall treats.  Since we are surrounded by some of the best apple orchards in the country, getting a warm cider donut with a cold cup of fresh squeezed apple cider is just a natural for all of us.

This gallery looks at a baker's dozen of the best places to get a fresh apple cider donut this year.  Some are big places, like the Fly Creek Cider Mill just outside of Cooperstown, or the famous Beek and Skiff Orchard in Onondaga County, both of which welcome thousands of visitors each autumn.  Others are rather small, out of the way family farms and cider mills.  Sometimes a bit tricky to find, and maybe without all of the bells and whistles that the "big guys" have, but delicious and fun nonetheless.

Click on the link to each of the cider mills in this gallery to find what is going on at each of them this season.  Many of them have fall festivals, live music, fun family activities, and other events to enjoy while you are noshing away on a cider donut.

And please let us know if your favorite apple cider donut didn't make our list.  There are hundreds of more places.  We encourage you to visit our Facebook page and give your favorite a shout out for all of our readers to learn about.  We really do want to hear from you!
