U.S. Congressman Maurice HInchey, who has represented the Southern Tier for twenty years, is on a farewell, thank you tour of his district.

After his diagnosis of colon cancer last year and several operations, the Democrat opted not to seek reelection this year.

Hinchey's first leg of his tour consisted of scheduled stops in Binghamton, Ithaca and Owego.

The Congressman plans to make future stops in his native Ulster County as well as Dutchess, Orange and Sullivan Counties.
