Two Oneonta Women Arrested on Heroin Dealing Charges

The City of Oneonta Police Department Special Response Team, with assistance from the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and K9 unit, served a no-knock search warrant yesterday morning at Apartment 3, 71 Elm Street in Oneonta.

As a result of the search, 38 packets of heroin were seized along with $620.00 cash. The heroin has an estimated street value of $760.

The occupants, Stephanie Seagren, 25, and Jania Barnett, 24, both of Oneonta, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance third degree, a Class B felony.

The defendants were arraigned in City Court and Seagren was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail. Barnett was released on her own recognizance.
