New York State has reached a settlement with two companies that have been overcharging taxpayers.

The first is Health Services of Northern New York which is accused of taking over-payments from Medicaid for personal care aid services and certified home health aid agencies. The company will pay back $455,000 dollars for over-billing between 2003 and 2010.

The other overcharging settlement is with US Foods. They are accused of overcharging 67 New York state institutions, including schools, homes for the elderly, the New York State Museum and the New York Senate by about $330,000. The settlement says US Foods failed to pass along savings it received from volume purchases and growth incentives.
