Two Arrested in Walton on Meth Charges
Press Release from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office:
Delaware County Sheriff's Investigators arrested two Walton residents Monday afternoon on Sealed Indictment Warrants charging them with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. A Delaware County Grand Jury last week accused 38 year old James Klinegardner, Jr., and 31 year old Amanda Bicknell, of 116 East St., Walton, of selling methamphetamine in the Village of Walton during January of this year. Klinegardner is charged with three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Bicknell is charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony. These indictments and arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division into the sale of methamphetamine in the Village of Walton. The investigation and methamphetamine sales led to the issuance and subsequent multi-agency and discipline execution of a search warrant at the 116 East Street residence on the night of January 26th by members of the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team, New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team and members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and Walton Village Police Department. Seven individuals in the residence at the time of the search warrant execution were arrested and charged with a number of felony drug charges following the execution of that search warrant. Klinegardner and Bicknell, who are currently being held in the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail associated with their January arrests, were arraigned in Delaware County Court on Tuesday morning and were each remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of an additional $50,000 cash bail on these new charges.
