Two Anniversaries Celebrated At Swart-Wilcox House
It was two celebrations in one on Sunday at the Swart-Wilcox House Museum. Oneonta’s oldest house marked its 210th anniversary Sunday and it was also the 30th anniversary of the Friends of Swart-Wilcox, the group formed to preserve the building.
Only two families lived at the home on Wilcox Avenue – Lawrence Swart, a Revolutionary War soldier who built the home in 1807 and Henry and Phoebe Wilcox who moved in 60 years later.
There are many upcoming events to enjoy at the Swart-Wilcox House Museum. To find out more visit swartwilcoxhouse.wordpress.com.
