Democrat U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and republican U.S. Senator from Arkansas Lisa Murkowski introduced an amendment to the Senate budget resolution that would prohibit the TSA from allowing small knives onto airplanes.
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer wants the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to reverse its newly-announced plan to allow passengers to bring small knives and other items, like golf clubs and hockey sticks, onto planes.
Schumer said the TSA's new policy puts passengers and crew members in danger. He said the items, which were banned after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, could be used as weapon
