Onondaga Lake

A dump truck led police on a multi-county chase through Central New York before crashing into Onondaga Lake. Multiple agencies were involved, and the driver was taken into custody following the chaotic pursuit.

Untreated industrial waste, sewage, and chemical runoff severely contaminated this NYS lake, causing it to become one of the most polluted in the United States.

On the surface (sorry for the pun), each lake in and bordering New York State looks just fine. But that's not exactly true.

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel Aubertine has announced that the Great New York State Fair will play host to a major exhibit that will show New Yorkers how coordinated remediation efforts between state and local partners at Onondaga Lake is changing the region and providing for future economic vitality.
