The Oneonta History Center just celebrated its Grand Reopening following a 4-month-long renovation project, showing off the many facets of Oneonta's fascinating history from its beginnings.

The success of the Oneonta History Center renovation project is about to be shown off to the public on Friday, May 13 with a Grand Reopening at the History Center located at 183 Main Street, Oneonta.

Oneonta Mayor Mark Drnek’s vision of a downtown Children’s Museum cleared its first hurdle. A majority of participants at Monday’s meeting to discuss the proposal want to continue exploring the idea.

The Oneonta History Center renovations will include the gift shop, entryway, and temporary and permanent exhibition spaces.

From all the responses from participating community members, a yearbook will be put together with the intention of presenting it to the Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) for public viewing and to have a record of local impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
