A combination of county government, private business, and non-profit organizations are combining to hold two pilot agricultural plastics collections for Otsego County farmers this spring. Collections will take place on Thursday, March 19 and Saturday, April 18 at the Southern Transfer Station in Oneonta. Participation is free, though pre-registration is required.
State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel Aubertine has announced that farmers across the northeastern United States and Canada are currently showcasing the latest in agriculture equipment, services and products at the New York Farm Show at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

New York Farm Bureau, the state’s largest general farm advocacy organization, has named 96 state legislators to its 2012 “Circle of Friends" award. The award is an indication of the individual lawmaker’s support of New York agriculture and the farm bureau.
