Oneonta City Manager Michael Long said Tuesday during his State of the City Address that the city is one of only nine in the entire state that is financially stable.
Long described that previous administrations had set up the city for financial success despite economic hardship.
At the Oneonta Common Council meeting Tuesday night the council approved a permit fee for an apartment plan on Blodgett Drive.
"The developer will provide $20,000 in funds for the planning commission to retain outside engineering counsel to help evaluate the project," Oneonta Mayor Dick Miller said. "The agreement also includes a permit fee if the project goes forward."
