My Dad had these on every one of his cars when I was growing up in the1950s.  My brothers and sisters and I thought they were radio antennas that picked up the car radio!  We use to "flick" them to see if they made a noise, and of course we would get yelled at...

I saw this road sign the other day.  OUCH!  Can you imagine being in a situation like this?  You are going to lose no matter what you do. By the way...this sign is in Oneonta!  It's on the ramp up to the third level of the parking garage on Chestnut Street Extension...
