Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that three New York State firms have been approved to receive nearly 6,000 killawatts of low cost hydropower in support of nearly $55 million in capital investments and the creation of 136 jobs.

The New York Power Authority board of trustees recently approved awards to advance 2,000 in Williamsville, Niagara Refining of Depew, and Sunrise Farms in Chenango County.

Thanks to the award Sunrise Farms will expand its Greek yogurt manufacturing facility, adding 19 full time jobs.

State Senator Tom Libous says that low cost power is an important component in helping businesses to expand and create new jobs the area desperately needs.
