Stop and Smell the Flowers at the Huntington Memorial Library!
I was walking from work to my car the other day when I passed a woman hard at work planting flowers in the front of the Huntington Memorial Library. It was a broiling hot day, but she was well protected from harm with long pants, a long sleeve shirt and a big old floppy hat. She seemed perfectly content, working all by herself, creating her handiwork on this hot, Oneonta afternoon.
Many other people passed her by without nary a glance up at her efforts. Me, of course I stopped! We had a friendly chat and I complimented her on such a beautiful job. I thanked her for her contribution in making both the library grounds and Oneonta itself a more beautiful place.
So, here's to you Glenda Bolton, Huntington Library Trustee and a "green thumb" master!
Thanks for the flowers!
