  • Order the Deli Rose from the Yellow Deli
    No matter what you order from the Yellow Deli, you are almost guaranteed to be satisfied. But one of the all time favorites is a sandwich called the Deli Rose. The Deli rose is a mouth watering sandwich filled with roast beef, corned beef, pepper jack cheese, provolone cheese, onions, tomatoes, mayo, mustard and their own special sauce on a warm cooked onion roll. This is definitely a must try sandwich that you will leave satisfied with.
  • T-shirt Challenge at the Red Jug Pub
    One of the many local bars in Oneonta, The Red Jug Pub located on Main Street, is infamous for their T-shirt Challenge. How it works, is each person interested in doing the challenge must pay $25-$30 upfront. After paying, you receive a mini form that you must fill in with your full name, the T-shirt you want (there is a selection of about 4-5 different kinds) and size, and a list of ten different beers on tap you want to drink.   • Roller Skating and Laser Tagging
    Sick of sitting in your house on a Friday night hiding from the cold? Try and switch things up and have a fun time roller skating or laser tagging at Interskate 88. This rink is opened year round and is an affordable way to have fun and do something new.
  • Attend Wing Night at the Depot
    The Depot is one of Oneonta’s favorite places to dine in. They are known for their famous garbage sauce that has so many people constantly craving their food. Every Wednesday the Depot offers $.20 wings with a variety of sauces to choose from. You must order either a pitcher of soda or a bucket of beer with your wing order, which makes it an even better experience. This is the perfect spot to treat yourself to outstanding wings at a reasonable price.
  • Joseph L. Popp Jr. Butterfly Conservatory
    This is a 3,000 square ft. indoor tropical garden that is located in Oneonta. This exhibit contains tropical birds, reptiles, and mostly butterflies during the warmer months of spring, summer and fall. It also contains several tropical plants filled with different colors. This is a unique experience that must be seen at some point.
  • Table Rock
    Do you enjoy hiking and breathtaking views? I suggest you hike up to Table Rock, preferably at sunset, located on the Hartwick campus. Table rock is a giant rock that overlooks the city of Oneonta. It takes less than 10 minutes to hike up to it and the scenic view will blow your mind.
  • Buy food at the late night Hot Dog Stand
    Over the weekend, there is always a hot dog stand set up near the strip of bars on Water Street that is located directly behind Main Street. It is open late and is in the perfect location for everyone leaving the bar in need of a late night snack. They have a variety of options from plain hot dogs with ketchup and mustard, to hot dogs topped with pulled pork. The “Gooch” is a must try option from this stand, a hot dog smothered with mac and cheese, crushed Fritos, and pulled pork.
  • Cold Cheese Slice
    If you are a local from Oneonta, you will say that this town originated the cold cheese slice pizza. This slice can be ordered from Sal’s or Tino’s Pizzeria both located on Main Street. This slice is simply a regular cheese pizza, served with a plastic bag filled with cold shredded mozzarella cheese. You can pour as much cheese as you please on to your slice and, BAM! You’ve got yourself a cold cheese slice pizza.
  • Eat at Brooks BBQ
    Brooks’ House of Bar-B-Q is one of the largest indoor charcoal barbecue pits in the East. If you are craving an all around BBQ feast, this is definitely the place to go. They have a variety of their famous chicken, ribs, beef, steak, pulled pork, and more! They also offer an extensive salad bar, kid sized portions, and delicious deserts to end your experience on a great note.
  • See a local band perform at the Black Oak
    The local music scene in Oneonta is definitely a defining quality of our town. From funk to jazz to folk, there is always something for everyone. The Black Oak and The Oneonta Theatre are two great places where you can always find an awesome show. Go enjoy a beer and support some talented musicians!
