In his 40 years at SUNY Oneonta, Outdoor Adventure Program director Snapper Petta led students on hundreds of outdoor trips, from hiking and skiing locally to whitewater rafting and whale watching excursions in other states.  Friday, Jan. 17, was his last day before retiring.
When a campus notice of Snapper Petta's retirement was posted on the college social media, it reached more than 14,000 people on the college's Facebook page, with more than 100 former students commenting and sending best wishes.
