According to a Senator Chuck Schumer press release, nearly two million dollars in federal funding will be coming to the Village of Sidney to help reduce flooding.  Senator Schumer announced that FEMA will put the money toward the Sidney "Green Plain Project" that will create over 100 acres of green space in the lower River Street area which is constantly prone to flooding. The total cost of the project is around $16 million and it's expected to get started this summer.
