The City of Oneonta Police Department in conjunction with the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department served two search warrants yesterday morning on River Street which resulted in seven arrests of Oneonta residents.

Jason Sanders, 35, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, robbery, and assault.

Tanyette Bassknight, 35, Alicia Anderson, 19, and an unnamed 17-year-old, are all facing charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

James Vanderkrake, 23, was charged with robbery and assault.

Rex Jordan, Jr., 26, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal nuisance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patricia Dean, 24, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child.

The warrants were obtained after month-long narcotics investigation involving the distribution of heroin and a recent armed robbery with assault.

Officials say that 70+ packets of heroin with a street value of approximately $1400 were discovered during the search, as well as scales, hypodermic instruments, $250 cash, and drug packaging materials. It is alleged that children under the age of 16 were present.

The joint investigation involving the City of Oneonta Detective Division, the Otsego County Sheriffs Investigative Unit, and New York State Department of Parole is ongoing.
