Yesterday at Bassett Hospital's Clark Auditorium in Cooperstown, NY Senator Jim Seward of the 51st District (R-Milford) announced the 2020 NYS Senate Woman of Distinction award winner. Mallory Delaney of Oneonta was honored with that award.  For the last five years Delaney has been a physician’s assistant in Oneonta at Bassett Healthcare with particular areas of interest in addiction recovery and in the care of medically complex adults. Delaney says one of the most fulfilling aspects of working during COVID-19 is the ability to help people she hadn’t previously met.

Seward said about Delaney, "Mallory Delaney is the embodiment of the many heroes who have been on the front line throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, sacrificing for the needs of others. Like so many healthcare professionals and other essential workers, Mallory has put the health and well-being of others first and has certainly saved lives.”

Joining in the presentation of this award was Tommy Ibrahim, MD, MHA, Bassett Healthcare Network President and CEO and Dr. William LeCates, interim Chief Medical Officer and president of Bassett Medical Center.
