Garth Brooks won Entertainer of the Year and about a dozen country legends shared the stage, but neither of those moments make this list of the Top 5 moments from the 2019 CMA Awards.

There was a better collaboration and more surprising, a satisfying win that make our list, plus two more performances country fans are sure to be talking about the day after the ABC broadcast. Live songs from Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton and Blake Shelton stood out, and Maren Morris' emotional Album of the Year acceptance speech was certainly a highlight. But was it a Top 5 moment?

The short answer is no, it wasn't. Kacey Musgraves was the artist who truly unified the audience (twice) during the 2019 CMAs, and for that she ranks high on our list of show highlights. Luke Combs' participation was undeniable, as was Shelton's presence and Thomas Rhett's daughters'. Yep, TR's little girls walking the red carpet were a highlight and a Top 5 moment from what was a fairly scripted, surprise free three hours of television.

In total, Musgraves and Combs won the most CMA Awards this year, with two each. Brooks won Entertainer of the Year for a record seventh time — the third time in four years.
