Relay for Life Event Raises $140,000 for Cancer Society

The 17th Annual Chenango County Relay for Life was held this weekend at the fairgrounds in Norwich. Local event chair Marie DeSarro says the event brought out a lot of people to the grounds.

"We had over 500 participants this year, our survivor dinner was the biggest yet," DeSarro said. "We had over 150 survivors they took their lap like they always do. Despite some weather everyone stuck around throughout the night and we ended our event at $140,000."

Interested donors can still donate until August 31st by going on line at relayforlife.org/chenangocountyny or by mailing a check to the American Cancer Society office in Johnson City.
