Oneonta Man Arrested For Burglary and Stabbing
A 40-year-old suspect was apprehended by Oneonta police following a manhunt that led them into the Oneonta railyards on Tuesday. According to AllOTSEGO, Brian Boone of Oneonta is accused of a burglary at an acquaintance's residence on Burnside Avenue. Boone broke into the home and ended up stabbing his acquaintance who was at home, causing the victim to suffer several deep lacerations. A housemate of the victim called police to the scene.
Boone fled the scene leading Oneonta Police, NYS Police, and SUNY Oneonta officers on a chase and was located thanks to help from a drone over the Oneonta railyards within a couple of hours and arrested on charges of first-degree assault and second-degree burglary was taken to Otsego County jail. Police believe it was Boone's intent to hurt his victim who is in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Bassett Hospital.
