NYSP Patrols Increased as New School Year Begins

State Police are conducting extra patrols to catch drivers not stopping for school buses with their lights flashing and those speeding in school zones. Drivers are urged to look out for students walking and biking to school, follow the speed limit, and to stop for any bus that is stopped with its red flashing lights out and stop sign extended. The agency is partnering with AAA for the “School’s Open – Drive Carefully” campaign and marked patrol cars will carry that message on a bumper sticker.
