NYS Pharmacies Can Now Give COVID Vaccine To Those With Comorbidities
Here's good news for those with comorbidities, under New York State guidance, pharmacies are now permitted to vaccinate New York State residents over the age of 16 who have comorbidities. Previously, pharmacies were only able to administer COVID-19 vaccines to those over the age of 60, along with teachers. This opens up more opportunities for people to get the vaccine.
Some examples of comorbidities include diabetes, obesity, weakened immune systems, heart conditions and pulmonary disease. A doctor’s letter or a signed certification is required to show eligibility. Check with your pharmacy to see if they are participating.
