NYS Forms Partnership to Study Tick-Borne Diseases

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a new public-private research collaboration to advance the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases. The partnership is between the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center Laboratory and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and will potentially develop improved diagnostics, and therapeutics for the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases, starting with Lyme disease.
Tick-borne diseases, particularly Lyme disease, are among the fastest growing infectious diseases in the United States.
