Norwich’s Virtual St. Baldrick’s Passes Goal of $30,000
This year’s St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser to benefit childhood cancer research was held virtually in Norwich on Saturday. More than 24 participants shaved their heads to help the Foundation reach their goal of $30,000 in time for Saturday’s event. The Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. The first Norwich fundraiser was in 2005.

Stacker used data from the 2020 County Health Rankings to rank every state's average life expectancy from lowest to highest. The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
