The New York State Police and the Broome county Sheriff’s office arrested a Norwich woman Friday, May 8th in connection with two bank robberies that occurred at two separate “Peoples National Bank” branches in Broome County. 36 year old Jamie Blewett of Norwich was arrested following an investigation into a bank robbery Friday at the Peoples National Bank in Conklin. The suspect and her vehicle were described and within a few minutes a State Trooper spotted that vehicle in the city of Binghamton. The driver of the vehicle, Jamie Blewett was identified and taken into custody.

According to police, the description of Blewett was similar to a May 1st robbery at Peoples Bank in the town of Chenango. A subsequent State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Office investigation found that Blewett was the perpetrator of both bank robberies. Blewett has been charged with two counts of first degree robbery, a class B felony. She was remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
