Pancakes are a wonderful American breakfast tradition.  A tall stack of warm buttermilk pancakes, a bottle of New York State-made maple syrup, a big pat of dairy barn butter and you are all set.  Eat up!

The American food calendar tells us that February 28 is National Pancake Day.  But we say...why just one day?  We should celebrate flapjacks frequently.  So in this gallery we will shine the light on several (10) great places that serve an awesome pancake.  They cover the Adirondacks, Catskills, Mohawk Valley, Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, and on to western new York.  They are restaurants, cafes, diners, and farms.  And they are all fantastic.

We searched the menus of all ten of these places and tried to come up with the most creative, delicious pancake that each offers.  Some are down right mouthwatering, such as the Red Velvet Pancakes for one place.  Nice!

One special place really stands out.  It has a great name, the Cartwright's Maple Tree Inn out in Allegany County.  They are famous far and wide for their "all you can eat buckwheat pancake breakfast."  Better get there early, because folks make a day out of a visit to this beloved place.

With hundreds of places serving up pancakes, obviously we missed many.  So, if your favorite pancake house did not make our list we encourage you to visit our Facebook page and give it a shout out.  We really do want to hear from you!
